HISTORY: Dated to the 12c. A note (12/13c) on f. 1v associates the codex with the Cistercian abbey of New Minster {near Morpeth): "Lib<er> s<an>c<t>e marie noui monast<er>íí." The manuscript was once in the collection of Lord William Howard (1563-1640) (Wright 1972: 199). Acquired by Robert Harley (1661-1724) from John Warburton (1682-1759) and recorded in the diary of Humfrey Wanley (1672-1726) for 16 July 1720 {Wright and Wright 1966: 59).
