Abstract
This article describes the Vancouver Public Library's participation in a national campaign by The Stephen Lewis Foundation to support its community-based projects in support of grassroots organizations in Africa that are working to address the effects of the HIV/AIDS pandemic.

I haved worked as a librarian at the Vancouver Public Library since 1991. I started my professional library career in 1984, as a volunteer librarian in Africa.
