The Tommy Douglas Library Opens!

Abstract

On November 16, 2009, Burnaby Public Library’s newest branch, the Tommy Douglas Library, opened its doors to the public for the first time. The new branch replaces the old Kingsway branch, built in 1962, and has a strong focus on sustainable and flexible features.

Deb Thomas, BCLA

Deb Thomas is Deputy Chief Librarian of Burnaby Public Library. She was Branch Manager of the Kingsway Branch from 2006 to 2008 during the planning and building stages of the Tommy Douglas Library.
