Abstract

The IPC was active in drafting a submission to Canada's open government consultation and in co-sponsoring with the Copyright Committee a panel discussion of Access Copyright and Bill C-11. The Canadian Supreme Court decided in the case of Crookes v. Newton that linking to information does not constitute publication. The SOPA and PIPA bills before the U.S. congress have raised concerns about potential harm to the global internet.
