“It is my right”: Serving people with print disabilities

An update on the work of SPPD as well as particulars on the results of two recent surveys - a survey of people with print disabilities to determine their needs in regard to access to reading and listening materials and public library services (delivered in the fall of 2011) and  a survey of library staff to determine their needs in regard to training and resources to help them serve people with print disabilties (delivered in winter 2012).

Deb Thomas is one of the founding members of the Services to People with Print Disabilities Working Group. She has worked for over 30 years in the library field. She is currently Deputy Chief Librarian of Burnaby Public Library.
