Natalia Gerodetti, Co-editor, /thirdspace/
Originally Swiss, I've just finished my PhD in Leeds, UK, and have started a research job back in Switzerland but spend half of my time here in Leeds because it's my home and "commuting" between Switzerland and the UK is reasonably easy. My research interests are around sexuality, more specifically historical constructions of sexualities, femininities and masculinities in modern Switzerland. My PhD research has used the unification of Swiss Criminal Law to examine the reformulations of sexualities such as same-sex desire, young people's sexuality and the regulation of "mentally deficient" people in relation to national identity. Following on from that I'm now working on a project that looks more closely at eugenics, national identity and the regulation of sexuality.

I am a Ph.D. student in French Studies at Brown University. I completed my undergraduate work in Women's Studies at Smith College, and plan on integrating my background in feminist scholarship with my studies of gender and sexuality in the 19th century French novel. I am originally from Chicago and have spent a significant time studying and traveling abroad.
