Sue Lovell, Griffith University, Brisbane
Sue Lovell teaches literature, gender studies and sociology in the School of Arts, Media and Culture at Griffith University, Brisbane, Australia. Her doctorate was on the writings of Janette Turner Hospital, an expatriate Australian who lived for many years in Canada. Her research interests include gender, Australian literature, and art, and the intersections between narrative and identity. This has led to a greater focus on biography and autobiography and how they intersect to work with the desire(s) or emotional investments of writers, readers, and subjects. She is currently researching a cultural biography on the Queensland artist Vida Lahey.
