About the Journal
CUJCS is conceived as a broadly-scoped undergraduate forum for exploring the many interrelated disciplines constituting cognitive science. Generalizing beyond SFU’s conception of cognitive science to encourage participation between schools and across the country, CUJCS covers submissions ranging within or across philosophy (of mind, science, logic), psychology (including but not limited to cognitive psychology, cognitive neuroscience, and social psychology), computer science (with an emphasis on non-technical papers covering relevant topics like cognitive algorithms and artificial intelligence / affective computing), and linguistics.
The stated scope of the journal is intentionally broad as CUJCS is intended to serve a broader purpose for undergraduate students of cognitive science, allowing students from various concentrations within the field to experience an in-depth survey of the topics explored by their peer researchers. We accept submissions of research articles, literature reviews, surveys of topics, well-researched opinion pieces on a relevant topic, and adapted school essays (assuming appropriate permissions).
