Eve's Apple Pie Recipe

Abstract

On the surface, my poem explores the passage from an apple to a pie. Sensual language is used to represent a woman’s exploration of her sexual maturity and how, like the forbidden fruit, society limits her desires. The poem's beginning is an allusion to [“As the sweet-apple”] by Sappho.
