Submissions to The Lyre Magazine’s 17th issue, themed “FLUX” are now officially open! Send us your brightest and most evocative poetry, prose, translations, photography and artwork by TUESDAY, MARCH 31, 2026.
Through the lens of your camera, city-lights flicker; but as the shutter snaps, the stills are static, intimate, and drenched in colour. Screens flash. The highway rushes. The scene shifts before you can capture it.
“FLUX” is a state of constant change, movement, transfer, and flow. But it is also chemical, a substance which brings two things together in fusion. With this issue, we invite you to explore the complexities of an ever-changing world. Are things always uncertain? Or is there comfort in the ephemerality of the world? This year, we’re looking for writing and art that speaks to the surreal, the cosmic, the beauty and the distress of impermanence.
Submissions are due TUESDAY, MARCH 31, 2026, at 11:59 PM PST at https://journals.lib.sfu.ca/index.php/lyre/about/submissions, or via the link in our bio. Visit our website for more specific submissions guidelines. Feel free to DM or email us with any questions you may have; we welcome pitches sent ahead of the deadline!
