Tocoming by Henri Michaux

Tocoming is a translation of the poem "Avenir" by Henri Michaux.

A note on the title: "Tocoming" is a an obsolete english term meaning "what is to come, what lies in the future." I chose this title as an attempt to retain part of the word play in the source text: where "Avenir/ siècles à venir" becomes "Tocoming/ centuries to come". 

Dawson F. Campbell has finished his last year of study in French and World Literature at SFU. He is passionate about reading and writing and has developed a preoccupation for putting those two things together in the act of translation—the art of forcing poets to speak his language while moulding his words to speak like theirs.
