Criminal Movement and the Dynamics of Hot Spots in Metro Vancouver

Abstract

In this presentation, we explore the dynamics of crime in Vancouver. This research sheds light on how criminals move around in a city many of us call home. Specifically, we share the basic foundations of our model and how it predicts crime to a reasonable degree. We also discuss how it helps us visualize the dynamics of hot spots in the city. Finally, we present the results of simulations and discuss our future research.
