As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  • The student has read the Submission Instructions before beginning the submission process.
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all text is submitted on the template provided.
  • The proposal uses language that is accessible for an interdisciplinary audience.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

All Proposal Submissions must be submitted using the template provided.

Begin by downloading the template and titling your template in the following format - LastName_UGRS2024. 

The template asks you to provide both a brief description (50 words) and a longer abstract (250 words). The description will be used to promote your research talk at the UGRS. Your abstract will be published in the UGRS journal.

Please include your abstract in both the uploaded file and on the submission metadata page.

Note: The author listed refers to the student submitting the proposal. Any additional contributors, such as research team members, may be added "Supporting Agencies" if needed.
