Community-engaged research in education builds on sustained relationships and mutual learning between researchers and communities. It values collaborative inquiry grounded in community needs, shared ownership, and a commitment to ethical and transformative practice. The Faculty of Education and SFU Educational Review invite submissions for a symposium that explores these principles in practice. We aim to foster generative dialogue, mutual learning, and new possibilities for participatory, justice-oriented educational research.

Paper presentations are 30 minutes long (including Q&A).

Accepted speakers will be invited to submit a full paper after the symposium for publication in a special issue for the SFU Educational Review journal.

This is a FREE event open to the SFU community and general public.

Refreshments and lunch will be provided to all speakers and attendees.
