Abstract

In this poem about a key element of the transformational process, the author describes how an appreciative phone call from an alumna inspired and encouraged her to re-commit to her purpose and continue on her feminst leadership journey.

Author Biography

Carol Whiteman, SFU Graduate program

Carol Whiteman is a graduate student in the Transformational Change program in the Faculty of Education at Simon Fraser University. Her work as a change agent in Canada's screen entertainment industry has earned her multiple awards including two Governor General's Award nominations for promoting women's equality through the professional development offering Women In the Director's Chair (WIDC), which she co-created with colleagues from ACTRA, the Banff Centre, and Women In Film and Television Vancouver. A former actress, she is also executive producer of six feature length motion pictures directed by women alumnae of the WIDC program.
